Why three

Where the Vans Come From

A contractor with one building and a wide map is really a contractor with a long commute. Splitting into three addresses was a scheduling decision before it was anything else: it puts a crew inside a reasonable run of most of the territory, and it keeps the routes from crossing each other all morning.

The three are not copies of each other. Belleville is the main office and the base for everything west of the Passaic River. Carlstadt is the plant — the warehouse, the fabrication floor and the equipment racks — and it dispatches Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and New York City. Englewood Cliffs is a field office on the Palisades, sitting on top of the densest high-rise stock in Bergen County.

None of that changes how you reach us. One number, one form, one record of what was done at your address last time. The office you get is whichever one is nearest, and that is decided when the call comes in rather than by you.

Where is ICS located?

Three places in northern New Jersey. The shop and warehouse are at 736 Gotham Parkway, Carlstadt, NJ 07072. The second office is at 267 Cortlandt Street, Belleville, NJ 07109. The third is at 120 Charlotte Place, Suite 201, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632. Maps for each are on the individual office pages.

Do I need to know which office to contact?

No. There is one phone number and one booking form for the whole company, and dispatch decides the building from your address. The office pages exist because people like to see where a contractor actually is before letting them in the house, not because you have to choose.

Can I come to the office to look at equipment?

These are working buildings — a shop, a warehouse and two offices — rather than retail showrooms, so ring ahead and we will make sure someone is expecting you. For most equipment questions a technician at your house is more useful anyway, because the answer depends on your ductwork and your heat loss, not on what a cabinet looks like on a rack.

Why does ICS run its own sheet metal shop?

Because most duct problems are shaped like a fitting nobody stocks. Making transitions, offsets and plenums in-house means an awkward basement or a tight attic does not turn into a week of waiting on a supplier, and it is why the commercial side can take on fabrication work for other trades as well.

Do all three offices do both residential and commercial work?

Residential runs from all three. The heavier commercial work — rooftop changeouts, chillers, rigging, controls — is staged out of Carlstadt because that is where the equipment and the shop are, and it travels from there to the job wherever the job is.

Which office covers my town?

Bergen, Hudson and Passaic plus New York City run out of Carlstadt. Eastern Bergen and the towns along the George Washington Bridge corridor run out of Englewood Cliffs. Essex, Union, Morris, Sussex and Warren run out of Belleville. The service areas page lays the whole map out county by county.
