A Paramus ranch is long and low. The builder set the furnace near the middle, ran one rectangular trunk the length of the house, and dropped a takeoff at each room. It worked when the house was new and the blower was sized to it. Forty years and two changeouts later the trunk is unchanged, the new blower moves more air through it, and the rooms at both ends of the run are the ones people complain about.
